The Year and Decade gone by

Posted on January 1, 2010May 14, 2022 by pranay

Its another Year gone by. A new one has arrived to take the place. As always we tried to find something special, in the daily things going around us. So we really wouldn’t miss the opportunity to concentrate on the bigger decade than a year. The news has been full of Trends, Pics, and other important aspects related to the decade than the year.

We are now wondering about the next decade. Why is it that even though none of us can predict a natural disaster or a terrorist attach a day in advance, we still try to predict the outcomes of the coming decade. All around i can see, technologies to look forward to in the next decade, the rise of India over China in the next decade, an apparent global warming ( appears more like cooling right now, with the blinding cold ) disaster waiting to take place in the next decade.

So perhaps its my time to take my pick on the year and the decades too. The last year has been a good one for me.

  • It started off well as i was able to follow some of my new year resolutions to the core.
  • I was able to let go of the threads that were binding me.
  • I was able to find some peace, and some reality.
  • I got an intern and a chance to work in a company.
  • I was able to discover a bit more about my likings and not.
  • I was able to travel to a lot of places including Goa and Pondicherry.
  • I was able to get a job in Cisco.
  • I managed to give CAT really well.
  • I realized that i could be very careless at times, and this might threaten my future. So basically i got a sneak peek of what may happen if i don’t take things seriously at times. Perhaps i learned it in time.
  • I realized that the world is mostly unfair and that things go the way of those who have power and you need to take that into account always.
  • I learned that though we may hate a country, we might still love the people.
  • I learned that emotions sometime desert me, but i am not made of stone. That i can still feel love, anger, pain, jealousy, pity etc.

And what about the decade, the year 2000 i was in school.
2000 Jan: Standard 5th in school.
2010 Jan: Final Semester of Graduation.

  • I have grown in height and width ( a bit ).
  • I have passed school. The 10th boards and 12th too.
  • I moved away from home for the first time in 2006, and loved it.
  • I have become independent.
  • I have started thinking, become philosophical and understand things much better.
  • I have developed a more spiritual side than a religious one.
  • I have got into IIT (tough by itself ) and been able to pursue Computer Science.
  • I have realized my career lay in Tech perhaps but also in Money or Money+Tech.
  • I have found my love for traveling and reading, and been able to pursue both decently well.
  • I also started with Chartered Accountancy, something my parents really wanted me to.
  • I have realized that though parents can be tough, their side of story is even harder than mine. Thus my love and respect for them has grown considerably.
  • I have found love in bits and pieces, in parts and in most unlikely places. I have been able to understand love and myself much better.
