This poem was inspired by being in the woods when it was written.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been a long year
Of stress and worries
In these muscles and neurons
Are etched, these memories<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

At first I thought of it
As nothing
And then it felt a bit
Like something
Not long after
It engulfed me
Like everything<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anxiety became my friend
Irritation my partner
Frustration became my mentor
Anger my lover<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At last I fell off
That same cliff
I wanted to climb
To win the world
The brutal slap
I awoke<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And found myself
Like waking from a deep slumber
What happened?
Where am I?
My soul was confused<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was time
Came a voice
To let go before
Your body lets go<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And one fine morning
I made a choice
To go save myself
To find a way back, home<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not easy to heal
It’s harder to let go
But now I am in the forest
